IVY TECH-SOUTH BEND DENTAL HYGIENE PROGRAM CLINIC OPEN TO PUBLIC

SOUTH BEND, IND. (May 12, 2008) – Ivy Tech Community College-South Bend’s Dental Hygiene Program has opened its clinic to the public.  Students in the program, which began last fall, will perform a variety of dental hygiene services under the direction and supervision of program faculty and licensed dentists.

Services offered include oral examination, prophylaxis (teeth cleaning), fluoride treatment, radiographs, sealants, nutritional counseling and smoking cessation counseling.  A minimal fee is charged for some services.  Fees range from $2 to $20 per service and some services are free of charge.

Clinic hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 1:00-5:00 pm and Friday, 8:00 am – noon.

The Dental Hygiene clinic is located in room 1380 in the Technology wing on Ivy Tech’s South Bend campus, 220 Dean Johnson Blvd.  Appointments are encouraged and can be made by calling 574-289-7001, ext. 6800.
