SOUTH BEND, IND. (January 10, 2008) Ivy Tech Community College-Warsaw and the Warsaw/Kosciusko County Chamber of Commerce will host a manufacturing forum on Friday, Jan. 18 from 7:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Warsaw campus, 3755 Lake City Highway. Local leaders in the manufacturing industry are invited to attend. A tour of the Orthopedic and Manufacturing Training Center will close the forum.
This forum will focus on evaluation of the current curriculum offered to technology and manufacturing students in its Manufacturing Skills Training Program and degree programs and also explore future directions for manufacturing/technology programs at the college.
According to Jean Perrin, executive director of Workforce and Economic Development at Ivy Tech-North Central, “Part of Ivy Tech’s mission is to assist businesses in developing and retaining a first class manufacturing/technology workforce. To help us attain this objective, it is imperative that we utilize the knowledge of the local experts to create and advance a curriculum and faculty that meets and exceeds today’s manufacturing/technology requirements.”
