Student
Leadership Academy volunteers help make a difference
Students and advisors representing the 2006 Student Leadership
Academy volunteered on a recent Saturday to help assemble water purification
systems to be donated to poor communities across the world.
The Ivy Tech Southern Indiana volunteers spent the day at
New Life International, a ministry based in Underwood, Indiana. One
of the primary missions of New Life International is the assembly
and distribution of their own unique water purifier. Water purification
saves countless lives around the world from deadly waterborne diseases.
The Ivy Tech Student Leadership Academy accepts a limited number of
Ivy Tech Southern Indiana students each year to participate in leadership-building
projects and activities. For more information on the Academy, contact
