Testing ServicesGED
Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in Sellersburg
is a State G.E.D. testing center. The test battery consists of five
sections and the questions range in difficulty from easy to hard
and cover a wide range of subjects. The test is timed and completion
of the test will take approximately seven hours. You must call for

Eligibility Requirements
You
are eligible to take the G.E.D. test:
•if you have not graduated from an accredited high school
•if you have not previously earned scores sufficient to qualify
for a high school equivalency credential
•if you are at least seventeen years of age and have withdrawn
from all forms of high school.
Testing Fee
The fee for the GED test is currently $60 and is payable the first
day the examinee reports to take the test. If an examinee is required
to retest over the GED the retest fee is $12 per individual section.
Payment may be made in the following forms: cash, credit card, money
order, agency voucher, or GED-on-TV voucher. Personal checks will
not be accepted.
Preregistration
Preregistration is required before the test date.At registration
you will fill out the demographic booklet, information sheet, and
have your ID's copied. You must make an appointment for preregistration.

Testing Schedule
The GED test is administered each Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00
P.M. and Thursday from 12:00 noon up to 5:00 P.M. The test takes
approximately seven hours. We recommend that you take the test in
at least two sessions.
Requirements for Applicants over the age of 17
All applicants must have resided in Indiana a minimum of 30 days
immediately proceeding the date of testing and documentation must
be presented at the time of testing. All examinees must present
three forms of identification, which will be photocopied; one form
must be current photo identification such as a driver's license,
state identification card, school card, or current passport. The
photo identification must be shown each day of testing. The other
two forms of identification may be a social security card, birth
certificate, car registration, medical or automobile insurance card,
library card, hunting and fishing license, payroll stub, or a current
utility bill.
Requirements for Applicants 17 years of age
Seventeen-year-olds must no longer be subject to Indiana
compulsory school attendance. The necessary evidence of this is
documentation that the individual has completed the Exit Interview
Process already in place in the high schools. The exit interview
documentation from the high school will include signatures by the
student's parent or guardian, the student, and the head principal's
signature. (Note: an assistant principal or counselor may not sign
for the principal. In addition, all seventeen year olds must pass
a pre-GED test before taking the GED test. A seventeen year old
must present to the testing center a signed exit form from the high
school, the scores of a passed pre-GED test, and three forms of
identification (see above).
Time Limit
A GED examinee has 35 days to complete the testing. In the state
of Indiana an incomplete test is not scored. If the test battery
is not finished within the allowed 35 days, the examinee loses all
test work completed and must take the complete battery over and
pay the testing fee again.
