Dropping/Adding Courses

Courses may be dropped in writing or orally. Contact the Office of the Registrar to withdraw by phone, or submit a completed Change of Enrollment Form to the Office of Student Affairs. Simply ceasing to attend class sessions does not constitute withdrawal from a course.

After the first week of classes, a student may register only with the permission of the instructor.

Students may drop a course with no record on the transcript. Effective Fall 2007, students who drop a class or classes may be eligible for a 100% refund based upon the length of the course per the refund information.

Student Withdrawal - After the 100% drop period for a course and through the end of the week marking the completion of 75 percent of the course, a student may withdraw from a course by filing a "Change of Enrollment Form" with the Office of Student  Affairs or by contacting the Office of the Registrar by phone. Records of students withdrawing from courses indicate a "W" status rather than a grade when the withdrawal process is completed.

A student who ceases to attend class after withdrawal deadlines will receive a grade commensurate with course requirements.

PLEASE NOTE: Dropping and/or adding classes can affect the amount of financial aid a student receives and, in some cases, can result in cancellation of financial aid. Therefore, when dropping or adding classes, it's important for the student to check with the Financial Aid Office to determine whether his/her financial aid will be affected.
