| COMPASS Testing
If you want to pursue an Associate Degree or Technical
Certificate program at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, or
take General Education courses, you must complete Ivy Tech’s basic
skills assessment, called COMPASS. This requirement can be waived
if you demonstrate you have completed appropriate college level
courses.
COMPASS, a computer-based assessment which measures
your skills in reading, writing and math computation, is available
by appointment or on a limited walk-in basis, and typically takes
two to four hours to complete. COMPASS can be taken all in one session,
or in smaller sections spread out over two or three testing sessions.
The following practice tests are provided to assist
you in preparation for the COMPASS assessment. If you need assistance
with the questions in this pamphlet or would like additional tutorial
support prior to taking the COMPASS assessment, please contact Student Affairs at extension 1202.
