Ivy Tech Preschool is a quality, model environment
in the community. The low teacher-to-child ratio promotes individual
interactions and assessment of each child. The preschool is designed
to meet the social, physical, creative, emotional and cognitive
needs of children primarily aged three through six and offers support
to their families.
Philosophy
We believe children have a right to a safe, secure, and loving environment.
We encourage cultural diversity and sensitivity to family beliefs.
We view children as individuals with separate needs and desires who deserve respect and consideration from their teachers.
We foster self-esteem, self-competence, and self-discipline through a nurturing environment.
We model and encourage pro-social behaviors, sensitivity to others, and peaceful conflict resolution.
We plan interaction with meaningful materials to promote understanding and problem solving.
We promote creativity and self-expression and assure a joyful experience for children by encouraging participation in art, drama and movement activities.
We believe families are a child's first teacher and we foster a nurturing relationship with families in order to better serve our children.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or special needs.
