Ordering FAQs
Textbooks and software need to be ordered
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE from the The 9th Edition Bookstore in Richmond.
Complete instructions, as well as an order form (which includes
all software, textbooks, and supplies necessary for your course)
can be found below. Make sure you read the instructions for the
correct payment method and that you print off the order
form.
Below are a few helpful hints to make your purchase experience
quick and easy.
- When will I receive my textbooks?
Textbooks are shipped 7 - 10 days from the date order is received . However, some textbooks may be on back order
or out of stock. We'll make every effort to let you know when
this happens, but you can check the status of your order by
sending an email to r9-textbooks@lists.ivytech.edu.
- I have financial aid. Can I still order books with the book
order form?
If you are an Ivy Tech student, then yes! Simply indicate
you are paying with financial aid in the payment methods section
and sign the authorization. If you are not an Ivy Tech student
then you will need to make other payment arrangements for your
book. The financial aid office on your home campus may be able
to assist you, however most students pay for the book out of
their own pocket.
- I'd like used books. Are those available?
Used books are available on a first come-first serve basis.
If you prefer only new textbooks, please indicate this on the
textbook order form.
- Why can't I place my order by phone?
Textbook orders are not taken by phone to ensure that the
orders are accurately recorded. Phone orders increase the rate
of errors. We apologize for this inconvenience.
- Can I return my order?
Specific return instructions are included with each order
when it is shipped. If you believe you might need to return
the order, read these instructions in their entirety BEFORE
opening any shrink wrapped packages or any other bundled products.
Opening these products may cause you to not be able to return
the items. Click here to review our refund policy.
Ordering Software
Richmond does NOT currently have purchasing agreements for software
products, however some software is available free of charge to students
if they are taking courses in Computer Information Systems (CIS).
To find out if your course has free software available, please visit
our software page.
If you are not enrolled in a Computer Information Systems course
or if your CIS course does not qualify for free software, you may
wish to order software from a store/vendor that offers discount
software to students. To find out about purchasing software at a
discounted price, please visit one of the following web sites (or
do a web search for discount software for students):
