Distinguished Alumni Award

Award Program Description

Recognizing that learning is a life-long pursuit, the Alumni Chapter identifies each year a graduate who has demonstrated through professional development and community involvement a desire to make a contribution to, and difference in, our society. This outstanding commitment is acknowledged through the awarding of the Richmond Distinguished Alumni Award at the regional commencement. The recipient of the Richmond award is eligible for and recommended as a candidate for the statewide Distinguished Alumnus Award presented annually in October.

Criteria

The candidate must be a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, having received an Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Science degree or a Technical Certificate. The finalist must also satisfy the following criteria:

1. The candidate must have graduated at least five years prior to nomination.
2. The candidate has made notable career moves.
3. Through leadership and/or active volunteering, the candidate has made a positive impact on his/her community and/or Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana.
