Automotive Technology Program Information

The Automotive Technology Department at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana is a training facility for both high school and post secondary students. The program offers a 66-67 credit Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology, specializing in Automotive Service or Automotive Management. The program is designed to teach the skills in all eight areas of automotive technology as outlined by ASE. Modern vehicles utilize complex electronic systems, which require automotive technicians to be highly skilled in several areas. We train students in brakes, electrical and electronic systems, engine performance, automatic transmissions and transaxles, engine repair, heating and air conditioning, and manual drive train and transaxles.
