Technology Program Information
The Automotive Technology Department at Ivy Tech Community College
of Indiana is a training facility for both high school and post
secondary students. The program offers a 66-67 credit Associate
of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology, specializing
in Automotive Service or Automotive Management. The program is designed
to teach the skills in all eight areas of automotive technology
as outlined by ASE. Modern vehicles utilize complex electronic systems,
which require automotive technicians to be highly skilled in several
areas. We train students in brakes, electrical and electronic systems,
engine performance, automatic transmissions and transaxles, engine
repair, heating and air conditioning, and manual drive train and
transaxles.
