Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana Course Transfer

Ivy Tech has articulation agreements, under which students may transfer individual courses or entire programs of study to a number of public and private institutions. A student, depending on his or her goals, may choose to transfer to another college or university and pursue a bachelor’s degree after completion of a series of courses or completion of a two-year degree program at Ivy Tech.

The selection of an institution for transfer should be an individual decision based upon the extent to which credits will transfer, compatibility of degree programs, location, availability of programming, philosophy, and cost of attending the transfer school. Opportunities are available to Ivy Tech students to transfer and complete a baccalaureate program as a resident or commuting student. In addition, opportunities are available to pursue a bachelor’s degree using distance technologies, which will allow a student to complete a degree program within the home community, even at an Ivy Tech campus.

The links below summarize Ivy Tech's transfer options by both general subject area, as well as by institution. If you have any questions about transferring course, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 800-659-4562 x 1226 or 765-966-2656 x 1226 (if outside of Indiana).

Overview and Disclaimer:

The acceptance of academic credits from another institution is the responsibility and decision of the receiving institution. Ivy Tech students and/or graduates are encouraged to explore the possibility of transfer credit with any educational institution of interest. These requests are often reviewed on an individual basis and may not require a written transfer agreement.

This document attempts to summarize selected transfer agreements for Ivy Tech Community College Region 9. It is intended only as a guide and is subject to changes and corrections without additional notice. Students/graduates should contact the intended receiving institution for confirmation of transfer status.

Additionally, each transfer has specific grade requirements, effective dates, and time limits along with other academic program/department requirements not included in this summary document. A receiving institution may not accept credit earned via dual credit and/or if credit is earned prior to high school graduation. Some program transfers include undistributed credit and may not directly apply toward a degree requirement at the receiving institution. Each receiving institution should be contacted regarding the application of block transfers and undistributed credits. Specific information on program to program transfers should be sought from the applicable program/department chair and the receiving institution for specific course and credit transfer. Transfer is a dynamic process and courses/requirements related to transfer often change.

This summary identifies transfer courses and/or programs from Ivy Tech State College Region 9 to the receiving institution. Students desiring to transfer credit should contact the appropriate academic advisor at the receiving institution to identify applicable courses to specific program areas. Transfer credit acceptance is the decision of the receiving institution. Generally, Program to Program transfers reflect 75% or more of program transfer credits applicable to the respective Bachelors degree subject to errors and corrections as noted above.
