Take A Course On Us

Take A Course On Us is a scholarship program that allows eligible high school students to take Ivy Tech courses tuition free while still in high school. Through Take A Course On Us, high school seniors may register for a total of two free courses, but no more than one per semester during the fall or spring semester of his or her senior year, or the summer semester on either side of the senior year. The eligibility requirements for Take A Course On Us are the following:

1. Complete an application for admission.
2. Complete a Take A Course On Us application including your high school guidance counselor's signature.
3. Attendance at an eligible high school.
4. Completion of COMPASS basic skills assessment.

5. Minimum score of 460 - Verbal and 460 - Math on the SAT.
   -- or --
6. Minimum score of 19 - English, 19 - Mathematics, and 19 - Reading on the ACT.

• A chance to explore potential career choices.
• Increase familiarity with Ivy Tech and our programs.
• Begin pursuing an Ivy Tech degree or certificate while still in high school.
• Obtain college credits that could transfer to other colleges.
• Opportunity to get a head start on college.

Students who are interested in participating in Take A Course On Us must have the permission of their guidance counselor, must attend a registration session to enroll in classes, and are responsibile for books and supplies.
