Senior Scholars
Free Tuition for Eligible Indiana Residents Age
60 & Older!
If you are a retired Hoosier age 60 or older, you
may qualify for free tuition through the Senior Scholars program.
Ivy Tech is waiving tuition for eligible seniors, for a savings
of over $250 per three-credit course.
To qualify, you must be:
- An Indiana resident
- At least 60 years of age
- A high school graduate or GED recipient
- Retired from your primary vocation
- Not employed full time
The Senior Scholars initiative covers Ivy Tech's
full array of credit programs. Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana - Richmond
offers a wide variety of courses and programs in the areas of Business,
Health & Human Services, Public Services, Technology, and General
Education.
You can also take e-Learning courses through the
Senior Scholars program.
The tuition waiver applies only to credit courses.
Non-credit courses, continuing education,
and courses offered by the College’s Corporate and Community Services
Division are not part of the program. Classes must be taken
for a letter grade, and auditing is not permitted.
In addition, some courses require a prerequisite,
and certain courses may only be taken by students enrolled in specific
degree programs. Some classes may require that you complete a basic
skills assessment.
While tuition is free, Senior Scholars are responsible
to purchase books and supplies, and will be responsible for a $35
per semester technology fee.
Enrolling is simple. You need to complete a certificate
affirming that you qualify for the program, fill out appropriate
course reservation forms, and if necessary, take the basic skills
assessment. For more information, contact the Ivy Tech Admissions
Office.
