Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana/Ball State University CONNECT
Program
Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana has collaborated with Ball
State University to offer the CONNECT Program, that allows students
who have not been admitted to Ball State to earn college credit
while working toward admission. Click here

How it works
Successful completion of the CONNECT Program at Ivy Tech guarantees
you admission to Ball State University as a transfer student to
continue your baccalaureate degree (admission to restricted majors
is not guaranteed). To sign up for the program, you need to contact
a CONNECT counselor. Once you have signed up, you and your family
will attend a special orientation program at Ball State in late
summer before you begin CONNECT Program classes. At the orientation,
you'll have a chance to learn about Ball State and the resources
available to you while you are enrolled at Ivy Tech as a CONNECT
Program student. The student must also complete an agreement form
Program Requirements
As a CONNECT Program participant, you will be required to earn
a minimum of 24 transferable college-level credits at an Ivy Tech
site or Vincennes University with a cumulative grade point average
no lower than 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Before you can register for
classes, you will take assessment tests to determine your skill
level in selected academic areas such as English, mathematics, and
reading. If your scores indicate that skill building is needed,
you will be placed in the appropriate classes to strengthen your
skills. Typically, skill-building classes are not college level
and do not count toward the 24 credits needed to enroll at Ball
State. It is to your benefit, however, to complete these classes
so that you will have a sound academic foundation on which to build
your college-level courses. As a CONNECT Program student, you may
not enroll in 100-level or higher (college-level) courses until
you have completed any necessary skill-building classes.
Only specific college-level courses in which you earn a grade
of C or better will count toward the 24 credits needed to gain admission
to Ball State. Your CONNECT program counselor will help you plan
your class schedule so that you will take courses that satisfy the
program requirements.
Once you've signed up, you will attend a special orientation program
at Ball State in late summer before you begin CONNECT Program classes.
At the orientation, you'll have a chance to learn about Ball State
and the resources available to you while you are enrolled at Ivy
Tech or Vincennes as a CONNECT student.
