If you like to help people and want to work in the medical field, our Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program may be for you. The PTA program will prepare you to work, under the supervision of a physical therapist, with physically impaired persons to help reverse adverse effects of physical disability. The therapist and assistant work together to provide appropriate therapeutic intervention and communication within the health care team. You will learn to administer therapeutic and psychosocial support for individuals with musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, vascular or other physiological dysfunctions.
The Physical Therapist Assistant program is a selective program. When you apply to the college, you will be accepted into the undeclared program while you complete the prerequisite requirements. The physical therapist assistant program accepts a limited number of students each year and there is a separate application process. Contact your campus of interest below for more details.
