Culinary Arts is a concentration within the Hospitality Administration program at Ivy Tech-Northeast. The hospitality industry is the largest private sector employer in the U.S. offering exciting, fulfilling career options with excellent advancement opportunities for those who possess the passion and willingness to work hard and serve others.

The program offers very flexible programming options. Degrees and sample careers in the Hospitality industry include the following:

  • Culinary Arts: Chef, cook, food preparation, food service manager
  • Baking and Pastry Arts: Baker, pastry chef, food preparation, food service manager
  • Restaurant Management: Cook, food service manager, restaurant manager
  • Event Management: Convention center management, event planner, lodging manager
  • Culinology®  (The blending of Food Science & Culinary Arts) – Research chef

The Ivy Tech Hospitality Administration Culinary Arts program is accredited by The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF). Students who successfully complete the Associate in Applied Science degree in Hospitality Administration have the opportunity to receive three (3) distinct outcomes that enjoy national recognition and add value to the employment portfolio:

  • Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) with one or more specialty designations that have transfer options to many other colleges and universities to build on your educational experience
  • ACF Certified Culinarian (CC) from the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation
  • NRAEF “ManageFirst” Professional Designation (MFP) from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation
