Ivy Tech Hosts Sign Unveiling
Putnam County Community Foundation Makes Major Gift Announcement
GREENCASTLE, IN – Ivy Tech Community College – Wabash Valley along with the City of Greencastle unveiled a sign Monday at the location of Ivy Tech’s future Greencastle campus.
The property, located in Rokicki Park at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Zinc Mill Road, will be the home to the new campus on 30 acres of land donated to the college by the City of Greencastle.
This new facility is a crucial step in providing the residents of Greencastle and surrounding communities a state of the art education and training center close to home. As the demand for highly skilled workers continues to increase, this campus will provide the skilled and educated workforce needed to meet future economic development workforce needs. In addition to Putnam County, this facility will serve the needs of citizens in Clay, Hendricks, Montgomery, Morgan, Owen and Parke counties.
The Putnam County Community Foundation announced that the Ivy Tech Greencastle Campus will be the largest single beneficiary from its unrestricted endowment in the Foundation’s history and that they were committing $375,000. This generous gift is an excellent start to Ivy Tech’s capital campaign and its goal of $1.9 million.
Ivy Tech Community College is the state's second largest public post-secondary institution with over 110,000 students enrolled annually. Ivy Tech has 23 campuses throughout Indiana. It serves as the state's engine of workforce development, offering affordable degree programs and training that are aligned with the needs of its community along with courses and programs that transfer to other colleges and universities in Indiana.
