Resource Guide to Architecture
This guide provides a summary of the information resources (print, electronic and web-based) that are available through the Ivy Tech Libraries. They are not meant to be all-inclusive; there may be alternative resources available which are not listed here. Please ask a librarian for assistance if you do not find the information you need through this guide.

Articles -- You may find information in magazine and journal articles. Articles may be found in either print, electronic or online versions of periodicals to which the Ivy Tech Libraries subscribe. We do not have any print subscriptions at this time, but have a large collection of electronic journals.

Electronic article databases:
To search electronic databases for articles, you can use the Search & Find > Articles section of the Virtual Library (see Library tab in Campus Connect) or click one of the databases listed below (the first and last on the list may be the most useful to you). Access to specific magazines and journals online can be found using IvyJo. (For a list of electronic magazines and journals related to architecture, use the subject headings dropdown box and select "Art, Architecture & Applied Arts."  The subheading for Architecture lists 57 journals. You can also search by typing architect*(for example) in the search box, but this only gets journals with derivatives of that word in the title, so the list will be shorter.

Google Scholar results are now linking to library databases!  We don't recommend it as your first or only step in research -- but can be a useful tool to explore:

Google Scholar Guide (explains what this search tool is and how to use it to find
scholarly material on the Web, or locate articles cited in our library databases). The first time you use Google Scholar at home -- set up your "Preferences" to find the Ivy Tech library, and save.
