Below you will find links to interactive modules
or tutorials which will give you an orientation
to important parts of the library on your campus.
Those in the first group give you
a photo tour of the physical library on your campus,
with Susan Clark, the director, as your tour guide. This will
help you understand how your library is organized and
the basic services we offer. (You will need a sound
card installed and speakers or headphones to listen
to these tours.)
The second tutorial, "Getting
acquainted with our Virtual Library," is an
introduction to the "Virtual Library"--our
online resource collections and other important tools
for your
research projects. (The short videos included load
fastest in Windows Media Player, but there are alternate
links for Mac users for FLASH files.)
The third is a collection of tutorials teaching information literacy skills as described below.
Some portions include FLASH streaming video format, so be sure your home browser is equipped with a FLASH viewer -- visit the following site to download the free Macromedia Flash Player: http://www.macromedia.com/software/flashplayer/.
The interactivity of these tutorials requires ActiveX
Controls to be allowed in your browser--and they
seem to work with the least
interference in Firefox. Ask library staff if you have
any questions.
If your instructor assigns the photo tour, please bring his
or her email address with
you so that the quiz form can be forwarded.
