Purpose and Use

The Library Staff invite you to visit the libraries to enjoy quiet study areas, pursue research projects, type papers, or just relax with a good book or magazine. Our libraries are quiet study areas. Using them is a privilege that is shared by all. Therefore,

  • A picture ID with proof of age or valid Ivy Tech library card is required at all times.
  • Talk only in a whisper or very low voice.
  • Continuous, ongoing conversation is not appropriate.
  • Rowdy behavior (such as laughing, singing, throwing things) is not appropriate.
  • No food is allowed in the library.
  • Only bottled drinks with screw tops are allowed.
  • Cell phones should be turned off or put on vibrate; they must be used outside of the library.
  • Children under the age of 15 are welcome in the library but must be supervised at all times by a parent or adult guardian.
  • Children at least 15 years of age may use the Ivy Tech Libraries unsupervised.
