Logistics of Library Services for Users
with Disabilities:
Within the limitations of the existing equipment and library, the library
will strive to ensure that facilities and services are accessible to
users with disabilities. Problem areas in the library
will be acknowledged and resolutions sought. User commentary is welcomed
and necessary for continued improvement in the library.
- Parking
There are three Handicap parking spaces in the spots closest to the building entrance used for
main library access.
- Doorways
The building entrance and main library entrance have pushbutton automatic doors that are mounted
at a level conducive to operation by a person in a wheelchair.
- Technology
Within the limitations of the existing equipment and library, the Library staff will strive to accommodate any adaptive technology possessed by users(patrons) with disabilities. The library currently maintains a wheelchair accessible computer workstation with an oversized monitor. Additional equipment can be requested from Disability Support Services.
- Drinking fountains
There are drinking fountains in the building outside the library’s northwest and southeast corners conducive to operation by a person in a wheelchair. |
