Printing

Please follow these guidelines to help control costs.
Article Length
Always check the number of pages before printing. Some articles are 120 pages! Use the word count to estimate how many pages will be printed. Given various browser settings, you might consider 300 to 400 words per page. The "print" button offers a "printer friendly" option. Choose this to get get a style and format suitable for printing.
Partial Print
Make sure you want the article before you print. If you are uncertain, print just the first page. To print the first page: -- With the "printer friendly" version showing, go to the browser's File dropdown menu. Select Print. In the Print dialog box, under Page Range, select Pages. Type 1-1 in the associated spaces.
Email or Disk?
ProQuest allows you to Email a document. Next to the print button is an email button. Use this feature to send the article to yourself or to someone else. Just provide an Email address.

To save an article to a disk: Get the fulltext of the article on the screen and select the "print" button. Go to the 'File' button on your browser. From this drop down menu, select 'Save As.' If you are saving to a floppy disk, be sure your disk is in drive "a," and select the "a" drive in the "Save As" box. Next, change the format from .html to .txt, and give the file a distinctive name. Once the file has been saved, you can retrieve the article in a word processor, such as MSWord or Notepad.
