Ebrary Exercise -- Name ______________________________

Using Advanced Search choose a two-word phrase representing a topic about which you would like to find a book in ebrary.   Search for these terms in the Subject of the book.

1.  What was the two-word phrase you typed into ebrary to represent your topic?

2.   How many hits did you get?

• Repeat the search using the same terms as a text Search

3.  How many hits did you get this time?

4.   Explain the difference between a Subject search and a text search

• Choose one of the books from the list that was generated.

5.  What is the title of the book?

6.   Who is the author of the book?

7.   When was the book published?

• Expand the table of contents headings

8.  How many chapters are in the book that you have chosen?

• In the left frame, click on the first chapter/section of the book (not including table of contents, preface, introduction, acknowledgements, etc.).

9. Write the first line of text which now appears in the right frame (not the chapter title).
