WorkKeys© is a job skills assessment system measuring real world skills that employers believe are critical to job success. These skills are valuable for any occupation, skilled or professional, and any
level of education.

Job profiling. Job profiles involve identifying the skill requirements and WorkKeys© skill levels an individual must have in order to perform successfully. Through job profiling, employers are able to:
• profile skill requirements for specific jobs
• evaluate job applicant skills
• evaluate the skills of current employees
• determine individual and organization skill needs
• provide focused education and training needed to meet both
individual and organization goals
• avoid legal challenges of hiring and promotion decisions
• aid communication between employers and educators/trainers.

WorkKeys© assessments. Assessments measure the current skills of individuals in three key areas:

Problem solving
• applied mathematics
• applied technology
• locating information
• observation

Interpersonal skills
• teamwork

Communication
• business writing
• listening
• reading for information
• writing

Training. Through training, individuals make themselves more employable.Training also addresses the gap between an individual’s current skill levels and those required for specific jobs, businesses become more competitive by having a better trained workforce.

WorkKeys benefits

WorkKeys© links education and workforce partners within a community by offering a common language which
helps the two parties communicate about job skill requirements that
are needed to develop employees and build a better workforce.
The system is designed to:
• help businesses increase bottom line through their employees
• reduce turnover, overtime and waste while increasing morale
• get the most efficiency from training practices
• encourage employers from moving entry-level jobs to other cities,
states or countries
• help instructors/educators identify gaps between student skills
and employment needs
• develop more efficient teaching
• enable students to see a reason to take coursework seriously.
