SUSO Project Schedule and Speech Expectations

SUSO Project Fact Sheet

What is the SUSO Project?
SUSO stands for Speak Up. Speak Out. The SUSO Project is a speech competition for Ivy Tech Kokomo Region students. The goal of SUSO is to give students the very real opportunity to inspire change in the community by using the principles of effective public speaking discussed in sections of COMM 101 to advocate on behalf of a local nonprofit. When a student is selected as the winner of the SUSO event, all money raised for the event will be donated to his or her organization.

Who can SUSO?
Any Ivy Tech Community College student is eligible.

When and where is SUSO?
The preliminary competition will be held Tuesday, April 1, in Alumni Hall on Kokomo’s Main Campus. The SUSO Project Finals will be held on Tuesday, April 15, in the Theatre Room of the Ivy Tech Kokomo Event and Conference Center, 1500 N. Reed Road (IN 931).
