Ivy Tech Community College, Kokomo
YouTube Contest Winners

KOKOMO, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region announced today the winners of the first-ever Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region YouTube® YouWin Contest.

Anna Landseadel won the first place prize with her video “What Ivy Tech Community College Means to Me.” The video emphasizes Ivy Tech’s small class sizes, caring instructors and many degree options as well as how she benefits from having an Ivy Tech campus close to home. To see the winning video, visit www.youtube.com and type “What Ivy Tech Community College Means to Me” in the search box.

Landseadel had planned on beginning classes at Ivy Tech in the fall, but because of the contest, she was able to enroll in the summer. She plans to enter the nursing program upon completion of prerequisite coursework.

“I really appreciate Ivy Tech offering this unique contest,” says Landseadel. “It is not your typical ‘write-an-essay’ scholarship — you actually get to be creative.”

Landseadel will receive a $1,500 Ivy Tech tuition grant. The second place award went to Brent Blackburn for his creative video, “Yukazi Explains: What is Ivy Tech to You?”. For his second-place finish, Blackburn will receive a $750 Ivy Tech tuition grant.

The Ivy Tech Community College YouTube® YouWin Contest invited current or prospective students and alumni to create short videos answering the question, “What is Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana to You?” and upload them to the official Ivy Tech YouTube® YouWin Contest group page at http://www.youtube.com/group/ivytechcontest. The contest's video entries generated more than 1,600 views over the course of the competition, which ended on March 25. The college plans to hold another YouTube® YouWin Contest during the 2009-10 academic year.
