Nelson joins the college as an assistant director of admissions in Kokomo. Before Ivy Tech, she was an educational assistant at McCulloch Middle School in Marion. She holds three Bachelor of Arts degrees from Pepperdine University: one in German, one in international studies and another in political science. As assistant director of admissions, she will actively recruit Wabash and Tipton county high school students in addition to advising students at the Kokomo campus. Polk, now associate director of financial aid, has been with the college for one year. Prior to her recent appointment, she served as the financial aid clerk at the Kokomo campus. Before coming to Ivy Tech, she spent nine years in human resource management. She holds a bachelor’s in business management and administration from Indiana University and she currently is pursuing her MBA at Indiana Wesleyan University. Beginning Dec. 15, Polk will be in Wabash on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., in Peru on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and in Kokomo on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To reach Polk in financial aid, e-mail her at apolk5@ivytech.edu.
