KOKOMO, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College Logansport alumna Brandy Kizer’s research was recently published in the 2009 issue of the “Journal of International Politics and Development” (JIPAD). The 2006 graduate and current public management master’s student at IU Kokomo contributed to the article entitled “Development Strategies in Tourism Economies: A Comparison Between Hawaii and Jamaica” as the tertiary author with Dr. Karl Besel of Indiana University Kokomo and Dr. Muthusami Kumaran of the University of Hawaii-Manoa.
The article is the second the three have collaborated on. Their previous article, entitled “Economic Development Strategies of Indiana’s Cities,” was published in the 2006 “Journal of the Indiana Academy of the Social Sciences.” Kizer has been a research assistant for Dr. Besel, a professor in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, for four years.
In addition to being a 2006 Ivy Tech graduate, Kizer also is a technician in the Library/Learning Resource Center at the Ivy Tech campus in Logansport.
