Helen L. Barnett Scholarship
Terms:
- Student must be accepted and/or currently enrolled in an accredited Indiana college in one of the following health-related course of study, either full or part-time: Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Surgical Technology, Podiatry, Occupational or Physical Therapy, Dietetics, Pharmacy, Optometry, Paramedic Science, Medical Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Environmental Health Sciences, Clinical Lab Sciences, Health Information Technology/Administration
- Special consideration will be given to the non-traditional student (i.e., an older student, one who has previously attended college and is returning after a few years break, one who entered the work force immediately after high school and is attending college for the first time).
- Student must be a Miami County resident for a minimum of two years
- Must submit a typewritten or computer generated essay from 350 to 500 words which addresses each of the following:
Brief personal history
Career goals Financial need, noting any unusual circumstances or hardships that you or your family may have Work history Volunteer and community history Awards and recognition Reason to be awarded the Helen L. Barnett Scholarship.
Family of Alumni Scholarship
Terms:
- The Alumni Association will award $1000 annually. The entire award may be given to one recipient or divided among qualified recipients based on need and qualification. Part-time students may receive up to $200, full-time students up to $500 per semester.
- The applicant must be the immediate family member (spouse, child, stepchild, or parent) of an Ivy Tech alumni. (Alumni defined for this scholarship, is someone who received a T.C., A.A., A.S., or A.A.S. degree from Ivy Tech.)
- Applicant must be attending Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in Kokomo Region Indiana in the fall semester of the current academic year.
- Applicant must complete the scholarship application and answer all questions.
- Applicant must supply a minimum of two letters of recommendation.
- The scholarship will be awarded based on academic excellence, community involvement and civic leadership.
- The Scholarship Committee will review the applications. Recipient(s) will be chosen based on verified qualification.
- The award must first be applied to Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana tuition and fees, and then to pay for books and supplies. Remaining award dollars will be given to student(s) for living expenses.
Harvey S. Poling Memorial Scholarship
Terms:
- Poling Scholars award is $1,000.00. These monies are to be transferred into an account at the business office in the name of the recipient in two equal installments at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. The award may be used for tuition, fees, books and expenses. No checks will be written on the account to the student or any outside vendor or agency without prior written approval by a financial aid officer.
- The purpose of Foundation scholarships is to allow students in need to continue and finish their education in a timely fashion. Any change in status need to be approved in writing by an Ivy Tech counselor or may result in violation of terms of this award.
- Recipient must remain in good academic standing. Failure to make satisfactory progress or being on academic probation will terminate the award.
- Recipient must apply for federal student aid. Any monies qualified for during a semester in which this Foundation scholarship is granted will not count against the Foundation award.
- Scholarship monies may not be used to enroll in classes not required for completion of the student's program of study.
Ivy Tech Foundation 2009-2010 Holmes Endowed Scholarship
Terms:
- First generation college student
- Degree declared
- Successfully completed at least one semester and six credit hours with a grade point average of 3.0
- Demonstrated financial need
- Enrolled in at least six credit hours.
County Scholarship
Terms:
- Must complete FAFSA
- Award $2,850 annually
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Scholarship Application
- Must be a full-time student in Kokomo region
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher or GED score of 54 (540)
- Must reside in Howard, Tipton, Wabash, Cass, or Fulton County
- May be a new or returning student
- Past recipients may re-apply for award
GED Scholarship
Terms:
- Award $250 annually
- Score of 540 or higher on GED exam
- Must complete FAFSA
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Scholarship Application
- Must be admitted to Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo
Sycamore Recreation Scholarship
Terms:
- Must complete the FAFSA
- Award $2,000 annually $1,000 part-time or $2,000 full-time
- Minimum 2.0 GPA, submit official transcript
- Selection based on merit, financial need & community service
- Must complete the volunteer documentation form
- Must have demonstrated community service within last 12 months
- New students, current students and past recipients are eligible.
Goodfellows Scholarship
Terms:
- Must complete the FAFSA
- Award $1,000 annually
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Scholarship Application
- Scholarships determined by Goodfellows Committee
- Must reside in Howard County
- Achieve a "C" average in high school or post-secondary
- Community Service is extremely important in decision
- Must have graduated from high school within 3 years
- Past recipients may reapply for award
Book Grant
Terms:
- Must complete FAFSA
- Covers up to 80 percent of book cost
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Scholarship Application
- Other types of aid will be considered first
- Kokomo/Peru degree seeking students only
- Not eligible if you received book scholarship the previous semester
- Student must submit class schedule and book list amounts
- Applicant is responsible for submitting book list
- Must have fees satisfied with the Business Office

- Tipton County degree seeking students only
- Must complete FAFSA

CDBG
Terms:
- Must complete FAFSA or submit a copy of your recent federal tax return
- Up to $500 awarded annually
- Must live within the city limits of Kokomo
- Student's household income must be at or below guidelines as defined by the US Dept. of HUD
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Scholarship Application
- Scholarship may be used towards tuition, fees and books
Ivy Tech Nursing Scholarship
Term:
- Must complete FAFSA
- Up to $500 awarded annually
- Must be currently enrolled/accepted into the AS Nursing program
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.60 or higher
- This is a one-time award only, must complete program within four years
- Must submit brief essay defining your vision for your nursing future
- Must be a full-time student
Gerald Lamkin Scholarship
Terms:
- Must complete the FAFSA
- Must be currently enrolled/accepted into a program of study in Kokomo Region
- Up to $500 per semester
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher per semester Kokomo Campus
- Must be enrolled as a part-time (3-9 credit hour) student and can only attend part-time
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Community College Scholarship Application
High School Senior Scholarship
Terms:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at Ivy Tech
- $500 awarded annually
- Must live in Howard, Miami, Tipton, Cass, Fulton or Wabash County
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Scholarship Application
- Must provide a copy of high school transcript
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Selection is also based on participation in school activities and community service
Agriculture Scholarship
Terms:
- Must have participated in FFA activities during high school
- $1,000 will be awarded annually
- Must desire to pursue agriculture as major
- Must have achieved a 2.5 GPA or higher
- Must apply for admission to Ivy Tech Kokomo Region
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Community College Scholarship Application
Teresa F. Glazier Scholarship
Terms:
- Must have completed COMPASS and placed in English 024 or 025
- Must have completed FAFSA
- Must complete the Ivy Tech Community College Scholarship Application
- Scholarship may be used towards tuition, fees and books
- One-time award per student
Darcy Burthay Nursing Scholarship
Terms:
- Must complete FAFSA
- $500 awarded annually
- Must be currently enrolled/accepted into the AS Nursing program
- Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.60 or higher
- This is a one-time award only
- Must complete program within six years
- Must submit brief essay defining your vision for your nursing future
