Ivy Tech Community College, Kokomo
Vision Campaign

Ivy Tech Community College Vision CampaignSince its inception in 1963, Ivy Tech Community College (then named Indiana Vocational Technical College) has been an integral part of the educational landscape of the state of Indiana. With its mission rooted firmly in providing educational opportunities for those who dream of a better life and realize they must work to gain new skills to achieve that dream, Ivy Tech has established its place in the state as an institution that cares about its students and its communities.

The college demonstrated its commitment to providing quality educational opportunities early on by offering vocational training for literally thousands of students who, for a variety of reasons, did not pursue the traditional university education. As the college continued to grow, its leadership, local supporters and the state legislature recognized its mission needed to expand to create even greater opportunity for Hoosiers. Today, Ivy Tech Community College serves more than 140,000 students across the state at its 14 regions and 23 campuses. Ivy Tech Community College Kokomo Region includes the counties of Cass, Fulton, Howard, Miami, Tipton, Wabash and part of Pulaski, serving nearly 4,000 students at its campuses in Kokomo, Logansport, Peru and Wabash.

While the college is still committed to providing technical training that stays connected with its roots, Ivy Tech now offers more than 30 associate degree programs in applied science and engineering technology, business, education, fine arts and design, health sciences, liberal arts and sciences, public and social sciences, and technology. Many of our students begin their college education at Ivy Tech and then transfer to the state's universities to earn their bachelor's degrees.

College leadership continues to cultivate relationships with community leaders and corporations and to work closely with university officials to develop new programs and transfer agreements. These relationships and the resulting benefit for students are further evidence of the continued growth of the college, the existence of numerous industry consortiums, and the excellence in its programming. The college also is an integral part of the state's workforce and economic development, serving as an important resource for business and industry across the state.
