AUTOMOTIVE PROGRAM

Through the Ivy Institute, students can choose to enroll in three pathways:

  • Accelerated (2 Semester TC Program) Avg 20 to 25 hrs/wk
  • Full-time (3 Semester TC Program) Avg 15 to 20 hrs/wk 
  • Part-time  (4-5 Semester TC Program) Avg 10 to 15 hrs/wk

Automotive Service Institute

The Automotive Service Institute will prepare you to start a career in new car dealerships, as well as independent repair facilities working on new high-technology equipped vehicles in a professional work environment. You will receive high-tech training in electrical systems, engine performance, transmission, brakes, steering and suspension systems, air conditioning systems and engine repair using the most up-to-date diagnostic equipment. You will be prepared to earn industry certifications from Snap-On and National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

Motorsports Institute

The Motor Sports Institute prepares students to enter the motor sports industry. The students spend much of their time on task in a hands-on environment honing their skills under the supervision of Industry Experienced Professionals. Students are given a complete introduction to the motor sports industry so that they understand the various aspects of the adrenalin filled field. Topical areas of study include; electrical, maintenance, welding, and high performance engine operation.

Diesel Heavy Truck Institute

The Diesel Heavy Truck Institute is designed to introduce and prepare students for a career in this fast growing field of study. Entry level technicians that have a good understanding of modern heavy truck systems are in high demand. Students are taught by ASE certified professionals that have spent time working in the field and are ready to pass their knowledge on to others. Classroom theory and live lab activities provide hands-on training for the students as the cornerstones of this program.

Auto Body Institute

The auto body TC prepares students to enter the workforce doing entry level body repair work. The students spend much of their time on task in a hands-on environment honing their skills under the supervision of Industry Certified Professionals. Topical areas of study include; electrical, maintenance, welding, body repair, collision damage appraising, and paint fundamentals.

If you are interested in applying to Ivy Tech Community College and earning a Technical Certificate (TC) offered through the Ivy Institute of Technology, click here to complete an application.  Once you are admitted to Ivy Tech, you’ll receive an acceptance letter detailing your enrollment steps, which include:
