AUTOMOTIVE PROGRAM

The Automotive Institute will prepare you to start a career in new car dealerships, as well as independent repair facilities working on new high-technology equipped vehicles in a professional work environment. You will receive high-tech training in electrical systems, engine performance, transmission, brakes, steering and suspension systems, air conditioning systems and engine repair using the most up-to-date diagnostic equipment. You will be prepared to earn industry certifications from Snap-On and National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

Certifications

Through the Ivy Institute, students will enroll in five 8-week sessions in which they will earn the following certifications:

  • Snap-On, ShopKey Diagnostic
  • SP2 Automotive Safety Certification
  • Snap-On Multimeter Certification
  • Snap-On Balancer, Changer, and Aligner Certifications
  • Snap-On Generation 2 Navigation/Scanner/Data Management/Lab Scope Certifications
  • Snap-On Torque Certifications
  • EPA Refrigerant Handling/Recycle
  • ASE Student Certification Exam

How to Apply

The Ivy Tech Institute of Technology is a selective program. Applicants need to complete the following steps before being admitted into the Ivy Institute of Technology:

  1. Apply to Ivy Tech Community College and complete the enrollment steps.
  2. Contact the Program Chair.
  3. Complete the Ivy Institute Application and submit it to the person listed at your campus of choice below.
