Getting Involved- Student Organizations
Ivy Tech Community College welcomes your involvement in the campus community with a variety of organizations from which to choose.

If you do not see something of interest we encourage you to establish a new student organization.  It is required that each student organization has a faculty or staff advisor.

If you have questions contact the Office of Student Life and development at (317) 921-4969 and we will be happy to assist you with the process.

Athletics


Black Students United

We promote academic excellence and leadership skills among members, encourage unity among students, faculty and administrators, and provide information to persons of all creeds.  We facilitate understanding of the minority experience through educational, cultural, historical and social programs.

Campus Events Committee

Campus Crusade for Christ

An international organization, our interdenominational ministry is committed to helping take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations. We cooperate with millions of Christians from churches of many denominations and hundreds of other Christian organizations around the world to help Christians grow in their faith and share the Gospel message with their fellow countrymen.

Campus Insider

Our purpose is to gather, write and publish information for the Campus Insider, our student newspaper.

CAPPA Fine Arts Club

We provide Ivy Tech Community College students with the opportunity to express themselves through art, network with other artists, and host open galleries.

Criminal Justice Organization

We provide students with opportunities to network and to participate in professional development and personal growth through interaction with professionals in the criminal justice system.

College Mentors for Kids! Inc.

We pair college students with "at-risk" elementary school children. Through these relationships and our activities, children develop skills and resources necessary for successful futures.

Collegiate Veterans Association

We provide students with opportunities to network and to participate in professional development and personal growth through interaction with other veterans of the US Military. Military and non-military students are welcomed to participate.

Future Teachers’ Organization

We increase student knowledge of children (birth through age 18) in the education and care profession, provide opportunities for students to meet outside of formal classes, converse with diverse educational professionals, and support each other’s professional development. We also engage in community service learning projects that support children and their families and volunteer at local and regional professional trainings and conferences.

International Association of Administrative Professionals

We prepare students to make the transition from student to professional. IAAP allows each student to grow personally and professionally through participation.

Ivy International

We provide students with opportunities to network and to participate in cultural development and personal growth through interaction with students of all nationalities.

Medical Assisting Group

We seek to enable medical assisting students to enhance and demonstrate the knowledge, skills and professionalism expected by employers and patients, protect the medical assistant’s right to practice, and promote effective, efficient health care delivery through optimal use of multi-skilled Certified Medical Assistants.

Muslim Student Association

We establish a welcoming presence for Muslims, build good relationships with non-Muslims to help explain the misconceptions of Islam, and establish a place of prayer for Muslims on campus.


Odeon Society

We are the first performance art group at Ivy Tech Community College.  We sponsor and provide creative programming for students and their families.  Some of our programs have included Ivy Cinema, Ivy Idol, and the production of original plays.  Members have a broad array of opportunities to be involved, from performing, to organizing events, to providing support as a stage crew member.

Student American Culinary Federation Chapter

It is our goal to make a positive difference for student culinarians through education, certification, professionalism and community service while creating a fraternal bond of respect and integrity around student culinarians in central Indiana.

Student Business Association

We are dedicated to serving the needs of the students by assisting them in accomplishing objectives that help them reach their academic and career goals. Job shadowing, faculty forums, internships, sponsoring service learning in the community, networking in the community, and mentoring local high school students are some of the benefits to Ivy Tech Community College students and surrounding students.

We help student nurses become involved in the community as well as foster educational and professional growth of student nurses.

We are committed to serving the Latino population of both the Ivy Tech Community College and the city of Indianapolis by bringing cultural awareness to the college and the community as a whole through events, meetings, lectures, and other cultural activities.

We are dedicated to enhancing communication between future and current Surgical Technology Students, to facilitating a broader understanding of the profession of surgical technology, and to raising funds for extracurricular activities of the Surgical Technology Program.
