Nursing

Students can earn an Associate of Science in Nursing from Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana-Central Indiana. The program is comprised of two tracks, the traditional track and the transitional track for those who are Licensed Practical Nurses.

Students can earn a Technical Certificate in Practical Nursing from Ivy Tech Community College. The Practical Nurse is an integral part of the health care team. This twelve-month accredited program prepares the individual to take the state licensure exam. This program is designed for students to gain the knowledge and technical skills necessary to appropriately care for patients in a variety of health care settings, such as hospitals, convalescent centers, and physician’s offices.

Class work is for both programs comprised of educational concepts for care of patients. This course content is then transferred to laboratory and clinical settings of the curriculum. Clinical experience is an integral part of the educational experience for all nursing students. The program has affiliation agreements with a wide range of agencies to provide student-learning experiences in a variety of clinical settings.
