You can breathe easy knowing your CPR training is being conducted by a certified, experience professional. Our CPR program coordinator, Darlene McAdams, has been teaching CPR, first aid and AED for over 19 years. Her experience and know-how make for informational and organized sessions.

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

Targets those who work in a healthcare setting or are required to take a healthcare provider course for their employment.  This course provides a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an automated external defibrillator, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

• Certification Fee:   $60 (textbook not included)  Course Duration:  6 hours

• Recertification Fee:   $50     Course Duration:  4 hours

Heartsaver CPR

Teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction to  all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace or caregivers of high-risk individuals.  Participants include teachers, security guards, daycare providers, fitness instructors, foster parents, airline personnel, and other non-medical personnel. No written test required for Heartsaver CPR certification.

• Certification Fee: $50 (textbook included)   Course Duration:  4 hours

• Recertification Fee: $40    Course Duration:  3 hours

Heartsaver First Aid

Content covered includes breathing emergencies; identifying and caring for bleeding, sudden illnesses, injuries; and preventing disease transmission.  Designed for employees and/or designated first responders who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements. 

• Certification Fee: $55 (textbook included)   Course Duration:  4 hours

Heartsaver Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Tteaches all lay rescuers when to phone 911, how to give CPR, how to use an AED, and how to provide relief of choking.  Recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, and foreign body airway obstruction.  Participants include teachers, security guards, daycare providers, fitness instructors, foster parents, airline personnel, and those who may have a need to respond to a cardiac emergency.

• Certification Fee: $50 (textbook included)   Course Duration:  4 hours

• Recertification Fee: $40    Course Duration:  3 hours

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Healthcare providers will enhance their skills in the treatment of the adult victim of a cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies.  ACLS emphasizes the importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival; the integration of effective basic life support with advanced cardiovascular life support interventions; and the importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation.  Participants include medical providers such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

• Certification Fee: $200 (textbook included)   Course Duration:  16 hours (2 days)

• Recertification Fee: $100    Course Duration:  8 hours   (1 day)

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

The pediatric healthcare provider will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes.  For pediatricians, emergency physicians, family physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers who initiate and direct advanced life support in pediatric emergencies.

• Certification Fee: $200 (textbook included)   Course Duration:  16 hours (2 days)

• Recertification Fee: $100    Course Duration:  8 hours   (1 day)

Recertification requires current AHA certification card
