With the construction on schedule, Ivy Tech Community College looks toward January 2012 for the completion of the Illinois Fall Creek Center. An enclosed crosswalk across Illinois is also under construction. The walkway will connect the North Meridian building and the Illinois Fall Creek Center. The second sequence will follow in 2012 and will include an additional wing and finishes the build out of the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of the building.

Fall Creek Expansion Background
The Ivy Tech Community College - Central Indiana Fall Creek Expansion has proceeded in two sequences. The first sequence included the demotion of the back portion of the building, the build-out of the first three floors of the building and construction of an enclosed crosswalk across Illinois Street. The second sequence will follow in 2012 and will include an additional wing and finishes the build out of the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of the building.

Construction will preserve the facade of the building while adding up to 204,000 square feet of instructional space.

The first floor will ad much needed office and classroom space, but the highlight of the first floor is really the new cafe and community meeting spaces. The new cafe will seat 300 and offer a variety of dining choices, as well as study and meeting space. The community meeting spaces and Ivy Tech's ability to offer a central location for members of the community to hold meetings and activities.

The Fall Creek campus is preserving the historic facade of the 1909 St. Vincent Hospital building.
