The Center for Global Education is committed to enriching the Ivy Tech student experience by facilitating off-campus study, international student and faculty exchange, and international events. We believe that these actions help to broaden the perspectives of students and will contribute meaningfully to their educational, personal and career goals.

Upcoming trips:

Springtime in Washington, DC-April 11-15, 2012: This experience is a four day, three night trip to our nation’s capital to see where our laws are made, meet Indiana legislators, and learn about the government process.  Open to all Ivy Tech students, faculty, and staff.

Summer Program in China, May 13-June 10, 2012 (with IUPUI): Take three weeks of classes in Chinese language and culture at Sun Yat-sen University and enjoy a one week trip to Beijing and Xi’an to visit the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Terra Cotta Warriors and other significant sites.  Open only to Ivy Tech-Central Indiana students. Passport required.

• Costs: $3,300 includes accommodations and airfare. Meals are on you own but should cost less than $5.00 a day at the Sun Yat-sen University cafeteria. 
• Scholarships: Some scholarships of up to $2,000 available through IUPUI’s Confucius Institute, based on academic achievement.  Limited loans are also available. 
•  Must sign up for HUMA 250-Study Abroad for financial aid.

Immersion Spanish in Costa Rica-Begins May 19, 2012: Study all levels of Spanish in Costa Rica, live with a local family, and enjoy cultural excursions for two or four weeks at the ILISA Language Academy.  Open to all Ivy Tech students, faculty, and staff.  Passport is required.

• Costs:  
  •  2 week program is $1,250 plus airfare. Includes ILISA instruction, accommodations with two meals a day, and some tours.
  •  4 week program is $1,850 plus airfare and includes ILISA instruction, accommodations with two meals a day, and some tours.

Israel Highlights Tour - March 8-17, 2013: Visit the cultural and historical sites of Israel and immerse yourself in the culture of this ancient land. Spring Break tour stops include Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Dead Sea scrolls caves, and an optional excursion to the Dead Sea. Open to all Ivy Tech students, faculty, and staff. Passport is required.

  • $3,362 student fee. $3,772 faculty/staff fee.

Paris Clair de Lune Tour - March 8-17, 2013: Tour the heart of France during Spring Break 2013. Tour travels through Paris and Normandy, visiting sites including Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre museum, Rouen Cathedral and the D-Day beaches. Trip includes free time to explore Paris and take an optional French cooking lesson!
