Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana - Central Indiana allows high school students to register for classes at the college. Qualified high school students are able to study advanced level instructional areas not offered at their present school, complete required high school courses that may not fit their schedule, as well as get degree work completed early. Special admission students must apply for admission, meet academic skill pre-requisites through SAT, ACT, or COMPASS assessment scores, and enroll for the desired courses. Students are financially responsible for tuition, books, materials, fees, and supplies.
Double Up for College – Dual Enrollment
Dual enrollment is simultaneously earning high school and Ivy Tech credits for coursework taught in secondary schools. The secondary-level coursework may be comprised of a course or sequences of courses. The student is awarded high school and Ivy Tech credits upon successful completion of the semester. Dual enrollment agreements exist in 37 area high schools and range from technical to general education courses. Students must apply for admission, meet academic skill pre-requisites through SAT, ACT, or COMPASS assessment scores, and enroll for the desired courses. Because these approved courses are taught in secondary schools by credentialed secondary faculty no tuition or fees are charged to a dual enrollment student.
