Step 1: Apply for admission at www.ivytech.edu/apply-now.html
Step 2: Send high school transcripts /GED scores only if you wish to pursue a competitive program (such as nursing) or seek an academic competitiveness grant

High school/GED transcripts must reflect the graduation/test date.
Transcripts can be mailed by the granting institution or may be hand-carried in envelopes sealed by the granting institution. No photocopies or unsealed documents will be accepted.
Certain rules apply to international students and those who graduated from schools outside the United States. Please contact the Admissions office at (317) 921-4800 for more details.
Step 3: Apply for financial aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov using school code 009917
Step 4: Complete the academic assessment
We can use SAT/ACT scores, previous college coursework or our on-campus COMPASS assessment to complete this step. Students meeting one or more of the following criteria are exempt from placement testing:
Possess an earned associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
SAT score of 460 or higher in each area (no more than 4 years old)
ACT score of 19 or higher in each area (no more than 4 years old)
PSAT score of 46 or higher in each are area (no more than 2 years old)
Have prior college coursework not culminating in an earned degree that meets the required academic standards and prerequisites for the selected degree program (coursework must be no more than 10 years old)
Bring your SAT/ACT/PSAT and/or college transcripts to Student Services when you visit campus. We will evaluate the scores and/or coursework and determine if you are exempt from the assessment.
Step 5: Attend New Student Orientation
This is a mandatory session for new students. During this session you will:
Meet with an Academic Advisor who will teach you how to interpret your COMPASS scores (if needed)
Develop an academic plan
Receive your Academic Advisor’s contact information
Set up your Campus Connect account
Register for your first semester of classes
Learn about Financial Aid
Plan to spend about 2 hours in the New Student Orientation. Seating is first come-first serve; please arrive early and bring a pen and paper to take notes. Parents are welcome to attend however the computers will be reserved solely for student use. You will receive the Orientation schedule during Step 4.
Step 6: Pay for your classes if Financial Aid doesn’t cover the entire cost
