About Academic Advancement
To ensure that every student has the opportunity to be successful, the Academic Advancement Division was established. The mission of this division is to instruct and prepare students to be successful in their college coursework. The goals are to offer support and curricular options designed to enhance student engagement in learning and to provide a smooth transition between developmental and program level coursework.

The Academic Advancement Division houses all developmental English, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), mathematics, study skills courses, as well as the First Year Experience course. In addition to these academic programs, the Academic Advancement Division provides support to students through the Learning Centers, Disability Support Services, Nina Mason Pulliam Legacy Scholars program, Online Accelerated Remediation, and TRiO Student Support Services.

The Academic Advancement Division assists with hosting GED and Adult Basic Education classes as well. Students may participate in daytime or evening classes free of charge.
