Accelerated Certified Training

Are you seeking to advance in your current career or looking to obtain new occupational skills? Do you have staff training requirements or employee development needs? Accelerated Certified Training offers licensing programs, continuing education for professionals, general knowledge courses and a variety of skill enhancement workshops for individuals and businesses. Inside, you will find programs from the School of Real Estate, IT Academy, Insurance Institute, College at Work, Autodesk Center, Office of Apprenticeships, industrial Skills Training Institute, Contract Training Division, among others.


Community Education

The Community Education department of the Workforce and Economic Development division provides focused, niche-based education on both a community and global level. The Community Education department is committed to providing individuals and businesses with cost-effective, quality learning opportunities that are easily transferred to the professional environment. The first courses to be offered this fall include courses to prepare business professionals to conduct successful business transactions across the globe and computer training courses designed to develop, build, enhance, and promote IT skills using Microsoft applications. 


Workforce Certification and Assessment Centers 

These centers are designed to help you advance your career by boosting your skills. With our courses, you build the exact skills you need for the certification you want. When you're ready, we'll even administer your certification exam. 

Certification testing is available in a variety of fields, including tests for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Certified Nursing Assistants. We also offer many information technology certifications.

If you're a business or industry leader, consider using our skills assessment, pre-employment testing and job profiling services. Of course, you can also send staff members to earn nationally recognized certifications. 


The Indiana Small Business Development (SBDC) Network 

SBDC is dedicated to helping small businesses throughout Indiana achieve their goals of growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and success.  The Central Indiana SBDC is part of a national network of 1,000 centers which are funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration, the State of Indiana, and  Ivy Tech Community College. The Central Indiana surrounding counties .  The SBDC is comprehensive in scope of services provided which are available to all types of small businesses in all stages of development. 


Career Services

These sites located at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis serve as Indiana's resource for providing employers with qualified candidates and job seekers with assistance in getting back to work as quickly as possible. Services include direction to current job leads, job search assistance, resume and job interview preparation, short-term skill training and educational scholarships for those that qualify.  Services are free of charge. 


Industrial Skills Training Institute (ISTI)

The Industrial Skills Training Institute is a platform that provides accelerated certified training to students who want to learn a skill set in a particular industry Welding Certification, Machining Certification, HVAC Certification, Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC). The training is accelerated enabling the student to place themselves in high demand, high paying jobs quickly. The training is thorough and meets industry standards providing the student with at least one and sometimes multiple nationally recognized and portable certifications.

The Industrial Skills Training Institute is collaboration between Ivy Tech Community College and the Indianapolis Private Industry Council to provide the best training to advance your career and increase your salary in Indiana’s growing economy.


Internships

Internships are a one-time work or service experience that allows a student to explore a career interest. Students should have at least some academic preparation in the field of the internship. Interns benefit because they can acquire essential tools for surviving in the workplace such as: handling on-the-job situations, use of office equipment, and handling office politics. Interns generally work under the supervision a practicing professional. Most internships are paid, but some are not. Academic credit may or my not be granted. Internships are often the most flexible of the experiential education opportunities available.
