RE: Update to the Full-Time Employee Handbook
Below is a summary of the updates made to the Full-Time Employee Handbook. Direct links have been established from this summary to the sections in the handbook to provide you easy access to the updates. Please be sure to review the updates carefully so you are fully aware of the changes in policy.
Personnel Policies and Procedures
General College Operations
  Employee Complaints or Grievances
    Informal Complaint Procedure   Updated language to clarify time frame to report complaint is 30 "calendar" days from date of event.
           
    Formal Grievance Procedure   Clarified policy to state the formal grievance procedure is available to benefits eligible employees.
           
    Timely Filing of a Formal Grievance   Updated language to clarify that terminated employees have 30 "calendar" days from notice of termination in which to file a formal grievance.
           
    Mediation   Updated to state if a resolution cannot be reached in a reasonable amount of time, the matter will proceed to a formal hearing.
           
    Composition of the Grievance Body   Updated to clarify the role of the Grievance Coordinator.
           
          Grievance body defined as three members with representation as outlined.
           
          Updated language to clarify time frame for appointment of grievance body to be no later than 30 "calendar" days after mediation terminates.
           
    Disposition of Formal Grievance by Grievance Body   Updated to include reasons for potential dismissal of the grievance.
