RE: Updates to the Full-Time Employee Handbook
Below is a summary list of updates made to the Full-Time Employee Handbook. We have established direct links from this summary to the section in the handbook so you can go directly to that policy or procedure. Please be sure to review the updates carefully so you are fully aware of the changes that have occurred. If you have any questions, please contact your local Human Resources Office.
Time Off    
  Special Holidays   Revised language clarifying that the employee's termination date is always the last day worked and may not be extended to include use of unused special holiday time unless termination date is during or at the end of an approved leave of absence.
         
  Faculty Release Days   Revised language clarifying that the employee's termination date is always the last day worked and may not be extended to include use of unused faculty release time unless termination date is during or at the end of an approved leave of absence.
         
  Vacation    
   

Exception to the Vacation Accrual Maximum

 

Added new policy allowing for exceptions to the vacation accrual maximum.

         
    Terminal Vacation Pay Procedure   Revised language clarifying that the employee's termination date is always the last day worked and may not be extended to include use of unused vacation time unless termination date is during or at the end of an approved leave of absence.
         
  Use of Sick Leave Allowance   Revised language clarifying that the employee's termination date is always the last day worked and may not be extended to include use of unused sick time unless termination date is during or at the end of an approved leave of absence.
         
  Family Illness/Accidents   Modified language to reflect a change in the use of sick leave time for family member illness.
         
  Family and Medical Leave Act Policy   Modified language to reflect a change in the use of accrued sick leave time for medical leave for a family member.
