The College continually explores new ways to improve and manage your employee benefits. Our primary goal is to provide you, our employees, with the opportunity to receive quality health care services at a reasonable cost for you and your family. The College offers a choice between two health insurance plans – the Standard Plan and the Select Plan. Both plans offer access to a very broad network of providers in Indiana through the Anthem Blue Access PPO network, and out-of-state providers through Anthem’s BlueCard program. The primary difference between the plans is the flexibility offered by the Select Plan for you to visit out-of-network providers at any time without a substantial increase in deductible. Please see the plan summary for each plan to determine specific benefits.
The College dental plans also offer you two ways to receive your benefits. You may choose Traditional PPO coverage or a Dental Maintenance Organization (DMO), if available in your region. By using the DMO, you receive 100% coverage after a $5 co-pay on much of your dental care.
Through our Tax Saver Program, you can have health and/or dental premium deductions made before your taxes are calculated. Before-tax deductions will decrease your taxes. This chapter outlines your health care programs. There is more detailed information in the booklets provided by the health and dental insurance carriers, and the Tax Saver section of this handbook.
