OutlooK: The Central Indiana Hospitality industry is growing quickly as the Indianapolis Convention Center expansion brings larger conventions to Indianapolis. In the next five years, Indianapolis will add 25% more full-service hotels to accommodate the greater number of visitors projected in Indianapolis. The result of this growth will be an increase of Hospitality jobs at the rate of 18% between 2006 and 2016 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Hospitality job growth is anticipated for cooks, chefs, bakers, pastry chefs, food service managers, restaurant managers, front desk agents, front office managers, hotel managers, meeting & event planners.
Salaries: Salary Range is $32,000-$45,000
Transfer Agreements:
Event Management Specialty transfers to IUPUI towards an IU BS degree in Tourism, Convention & Event Management.
Culinary Arts Specialty transfers to Ball State University towards a BS degree in Hospitality Management
