STARS Registration Worksheet
Ivy Tech's "Student Telephone Access Response System"

To register by telephone you must use a touch-tone telephone which produces a tone when you push any button. The touch-tone telephone functions as a computer keyboard giving you live access to the telephone registration computer.

  1. Complete the STARS Registration Worksheet
    You should complete the entire telephone registration worksheet before calling the system number. Remember that on the worksheet and when entering your course/section requests, each class must be converted to the five-digit call number listed next to each course in the current class schedule. You should choose at least one alternative section for each class you want in case of closed or cancelled classes.

  2. Call the STARS Registration number: 1-877-IVY-TECH (1-877-489-8324)
    When you call the touch-tone registration number the telephone will be answered by a computerized voice response system that will guide you through a process with a series of commands and questions. You must respond to the questions and commands by depressing the correct keys on your touch-tone telephone.

  3. Listing of Classes
    Following all registration activity you can find out what classes you are registered for by having your schedule read back to you. Please listen carefully to each course number and course name. You may make corrections before disconnecting if your schedule is not correct.
Step 1: Dial the toll-free number on your touch-tone telephone: 1-877-IVY-TECH (1-877-489-8324)
Step 2: Press 1 for Registration
Step 3: Enter your nine-digit student ID number (same as social security number)

The speaker will read back the number entered. If correct, press 1. Press 2 if incorrect, and re-enter the correct number.
Step 4: Enter your six-digit PIN number. This will be the student's date of birth (format: mmddyy) for first time users. Previous users may have customized their PIN number.

Step 5: Select a term from the list of options.
Step 6: To register for courses press 1.
To drop a course or change class options, press 2.
To list your current course schedule, press 3.

	The speaker will read back the call number entered.  If correct, press 1.  If incorrect, press 2 and enter the correct number.  
	If registration is successful the speaker will say "The requested course has been added to your schedule".
Step 7: After you complete your registration, you may return to the registration menu by pressing *7 or the main menu by pressing *2.
