Browser settings for Netscape 7 on a PC
Enable cookies and Java:
- Click on EDIT from the browser menu and then click PREFERENCES. The Preferences dialog box opens.
- Click on the ADVANCED category. The right pane displays a set of advanced options.
- In the top section of the right pane, put a checkmark next to ENABLE JAVA.
- Next find the PRIVACY & SECURITY category and click the arrow next to it to display its sub-categories. Click on the COOKIES sub-category. In the right pane, select ENABLE COOKIES FOR THE ORIGINATING WEB SITE ONLY.
- Click the OK button to save changes and close the Preferences dialog box.
Security Level Settings:
- Next find the NAVIGATOR category (still under EDIT > PREFERENCES) and click the arrow next to it to display its sub-categories. Click on the HISTORY sub-category. In the right pane, click the CLEAR HISTORY button.
- Next find the ADVANCED category and click the arrow next to it to display its sub-categories. Click on the CACHE sub-category.
- In the right pane click on the CLEAR MEMORY CACHE and CLEAR DISK CACHE buttons.
- Under "Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network", click on WHEN THE PAGE IS OUT OF DATE.
- Click the OK button to save changes and close the Preferences dialog box.
