Why am I unable to open email or the calendar?
If you are experiencing a problem opening email or a calendar, check to see if you have a pop-up blocker or a Google or Yahoo Toolbar (Companion). Yahoo Instant Messenger is an indicator that you have the Yahoo Toolbar installed. Common locations for a pop-up blocker include: Windows with SP2, ISPs such as AOL, MSN and Earthlink, search toolbars such as Yahoo, WebSearch and Google, and certain browsers such as Netscape as well as Norton Internet Security and McAfee Security Suite software which you will need to turn off.

Why can't I open an email attachment that was sent to me, what do I need to do?

Usually this happens when you do not have the appropriate software application on your PC to open the file. For example, if the attached file is an Excel file, you need Excel on your PC to open it.

In this case you will need to reply to the author asking him/her to resend the attachment as well as informing you as to how the file was created. If you know the document is a word processor file, let the author know which word processing program you hare using. He/she can probably easily translate and send the attachment back to you. If the file is a graphic and it is either a jpg or gif, your browser should be able to open it.

Some common file viewers are available on the downloads page that will allow you to view (not edit) some common applications like Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio.
Why do I receive the "Over Quota" message from the postmaster when trying to send email to someone?
This is because they are over their email quota limit.  They need to delete some of their email (in the INBOX and empty the Deleted folder) before they can receive any email.  It might be a good idea to let them know in person or via phone that email sent to them is being bounced back to the sender and direct them to http://www.squirrelmail.org/wiki/DisableTrashCan on how to allow for email. They can also contact the help.
Is there a limit to the number of files I can attach to an email message?
Yes. You can attach up to 20 files to an email message.
Is there a limit to the file size of an attachment?
Yes.  The attached file cannot exceed 10 megabytes.
