Culinary Arts Graduate Cooks Up a Sweet Career with Joseph Decuis
Renee Endres graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with a culinary arts degree in May of 2006. In 2004, she won the highly sought after Mystery Basket Competition offered by Ivy Tech, which enabled her to travel to Italy where she received certification in Italian cooking. Her international travels have also led her to Spain and France where she has been certified in classes such as Spanish cooking and Mediterranean cooking. In May, Renee will be competing for scholarship money at the National Restaurant Show in Chicago. Currently she is enrolled at IPFW where she is working towards a bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism management.

For nearly four years, Renee has been working as a Chef in the highly respected kitchen of Joseph Decuis in Roanoke, Indiana. She has masterfully prepared delicious salads and mouth-watering entrees. If someone were to pay Renee a visit tonight, he or she would find Renee creating delectable desserts for the discerning dinner guests of Joseph Decuis, as that is her current concentration.

Renee commented on two outstanding instructors who went that extra mile to ensure she not only received an exceptional culinary education but saw her potential and made her see it for herself. She touts Chefs Jerry Wilson and Jeff Bunting for allowing her to acquire the skills necessary to achieve greatness in her field and encourage her passion for culinary arts.

When asked what her favorite food is to prepare or eat, she named off a laundry list of delicious items and decided that “just about anything” was an easier answer.
