recognizing the 40th anniversary of Ivy Tech Community College in Northeast Indiana. Remarks were made by Chancellor Mark A. Keen, Ph.D.; Alisa Harris (student and part-time employee who stood in for President Tom Snyder); State Representative Randy Borror; State Senator Bob Meeks; Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry; U.S. Representative Mark Souder; State Representative Phyllis Pond; retiree and founding Regional Board Member Merland Beyler; and student Sue Waldeck. The focus of the event was the planting of a pin oak tree (shown right) symbolizing the College staking its roots at the North Campus. Those in attendance were able to view architectural renderings and a video of the new Technology Center building (shown above) and development slated for the North Campus, while enjoying desserts prepared by Ivy Tech Community College culinary arts students. Chancellor Mark Keen stated, “This is an exciting time for Ivy Tech Community College. Not only are we able to fully utilize the $26.7 million granted to us by the State Legislature, but we will be better positioned to accommodate our continued growth and better serve both our students and the community.” |
