Why you should consider College for Working Adults

  • Available at a campus near you: Ivy Tech's College for Working Adults is available at locations throughout Indiana.
  • Affordable tuition: Your education doesn't have to cost a fortune, thanks to Ivy Tech Community College.  Did you know that you can earn your college degree for less than $6,000 — that is less than $3,000 a year. Learn more about tuition.
  • Defined program plan: No guesswork! Before you enroll, we will help you plan exactly what classes you’ll need to earn your degree.
  • 8-week sessions: Through the use of classroom and technology enhanced learning you’ll be able to complete each class quickly.
  • Two classes per session: Classes are designed to build on each other — at the completion of one session you’ll be ready for the next.
  • Set schedule: College for Working Adults works with your life and your schedule. Classes will meet on the same days and the same times throughout the entire program.
  • Relevant courses: You’ll take classes designed to give you the skills employers want you to have.
  • Get a jump start with credit for prior learning: Work experience, military service, professional certifications, and technical training service in AmeriCorps or the Peace Corps are all examples of ways you may have developed the experience and knowledge needed to earn Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credit. When you earn credit through PLA, you may save a significant amount of money and complete your degree more quickly. Learn more.
  • Classmates who work with you: College for Working Adults is designed in a cohort format — meaning that you will start and complete the program with the same group of students — students just like you. You will work on projects together, study together and celebrate each other's successes. Most importantly, you will learn from each others' experiences.
  • The support you need along the way: Ivy Tech has resources prepared especially for you. Think you might need a couple of refresher courses? Through one on one advising, we will help make sure you are getting started on the right track. Some locations offer remedial classes within the College for Working Adults program.
There will be an orientation exclusively for students like you. And if you are eligible for financial aid, most types of aid can be budgeted throughout the program.
  • Earn your degree and change your life: When you complete the program, you will have a degree from Ivy Tech — giving you increased earnings potential and opportunity for career advancement. With an associate degree from Ivy Tech, you'll earn an average of $7,000 more each year than you would with just a high school degree. Over the course of your career this could be a difference of up to $400,000.
